Clint Cary AKA The Spaceman of Ocean Beach tells how he transformed from being a Dixieland trombone player, to cosmic artist. This is Clint’s first recorded interview after arriving in Ocean Beach California on April 15th, 1963. Bob Oaks conducts the first of many conversations, spanning thirty years, with the Spaceman of Ocean Beach.

Regis Philbin interviews the Spaceman of Ocean Beach (September 3, 1966)

Recorded the night of Saturday, Sept. 3, 1966. The Spaceman of Ocean Beach (Clint Cary) appears on the “The Regis Philbin Show” on KOGO (now KGTV Channel 10) in San Diego, CA. This recording was made by Bob Oaks by placing a microphone next to a TV speaker.

The Regis Philbin Show was Philbin’s first talk show. It ran from 1961-1964 and then again in 1966.

Spaceman of Ocean Beach 4-30-1967

Clint Cary and Bob Oaks have an in depth discussion on the meaning of life. This track is considered their masterpiece recording. Both men are in top form as they battle over Clint’s drinking problems. It all leads to Bob asking the listener, “What would you do if this happened to you?”

Spaceman of Ocean Beach 8-17-1968 (August 17, 1968)

Bob Oaks introduces Clint Cary, AKA The Spaceman of Ocean Beach. Clint tells the story of his first contact with the Rillisporians, and answers questions from Ocean Beach teenagers.
